The Hunterdon County Bulldogs Marine Corps League hosted its annual Scholarship Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, June 11th, celebrating the achievements of outstanding students from throughout Hunterdon County. The event honored seven deserving recipients who together received a total of $18,092 in scholarships.
Six students were awarded $1,000 scholarships, while the top recipient, Leah Lesko of North Hunterdon Regional High School, was honored with the Kevin Patrick Bogle Memorial Scholarship of $12,092. Leah, along with her family and Missy Bogle, Kevin’s sister, attended the dinner to celebrate her remarkable achievement.
Leah was selected based on her compelling essay, in which she expressed her dedication to occupational therapy and her realization of its importance through witnessing its impact on veterans facing injuries and mental health challenges.
Also in attendance were Austin Keeth of Hunterdon County Academies and Tyler Brittain of North Hunterdon High School.
The other scholarship winners unable to attend include Kylee Bendix of Delaware Valley High School, Tessa Santoro of Hunterdon County Academies, Rebecca Farber of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, and Tierny Razasa of South Hunterdon Regional High School.
